I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who works with high-achieving adults and older teens (14+) struggling with anxiety and insomnia—especially when perfectionism, pressure, and overthinking make it hard to rest or shut the mind off.

I provide therapy to clients physically located in North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, and Texas.
Services are offered via telehealth in all four states, with in-person sessions available in North Carolina only.

Who I Work With

I often work with people who appear to have it together on the outside but feel exhausted, anxious, and mentally overextended on the inside. Many are perfectionists with demanding jobs or academic pressure, little time for rest, and a growing concern that their anxiety or sleep problems are getting worse—despite trying hard to fix them. By the time they reach out, they’re often frustrated, unsure whether therapy will help, and looking for a way to calm their mind and get more consistent sleep.

If you’re here because anxiety or perfectionism is taking over your lifeAnxiety Therapy

I provide therapy for high-achieving adults and teens navigating:

  • Anxiety and chronic overthinking

  • Insomnia and sleep disruption

  • Work- or school-related stress

  • Perfectionism and burnout

This work is likely a strong fit if you are:

  • A high-achieving adult or older teen (14+)

  • Experiencing anxiety, insomnia, or sleep disruption tied to stress or perfectionism

  • Open to structured, skills-based approaches (CBT, CBT-I, ICBT)

  • Willing to practice strategies between sessions

  • Seeking practical tools and insight into long-standing patterns

This work tends to be most effective for clients who are ready to actively engage in change—even when doing things differently feels uncomfortable at first.

This practice may not be appropriate if you are:

  • Experiencing an active mental health crisis or need emergency support

  • Seeking court-mandated or forensic evaluations

  • Looking for an unstructured, insight-only approach without skills or practice between sessions

  • Seeking insurance-based care outside of North Carolina

  • Looking for medication management (I do not prescribe)

If you’re unsure, a brief consultation can help clarify fit.

How I Work

In therapy, we may explore:

  • What fuels your anxiety or insomnia beneath the surface

  • How perfectionism and internal pressure shape daily life

  • Thought patterns and habits that interfere with rest and focus

  • Skills for calming the nervous system and creating more space

  • Gentle mindset shifts that support confidence, rest, and self-trust

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based strategies such as CBT, ICBT, and CBT-I. We focus on helping you feel better—particularly with sleep and anxiety—while also understanding the patterns that keep you stuck in cycles of overthinking, burnout, or perfectionism.

My work is structured but flexible. We’ll follow a plan, adapt as needed, and focus on tools you can actually use. I bring humor, real-life examples, and clarity so therapy feels collaborative and doable.

Why Clients and Referrers Often Choose Me

Clients and referring clinicians tend to choose me when someone:

  • Is functioning well externally but experiencing persistent anxiety, insomnia, or mental overload

  • Has already tried self-help strategies, sleep hygiene, or productivity tools without lasting relief

  • Wants a therapist who offers both structure and psychological depth

  • Is motivated, reflective, and willing to apply strategies between sessions

  • Values a therapist who is direct, steady, and collaborative, with a sense of humor

Referrers often reach out when a client’s anxiety or sleep difficulties are complicated by perfectionism, pressure, or burnout—and when a clear, skills-based approach is needed rather than open-ended therapy alone.
